ABOUT PFB
Hi! I’m Jo.
Pancakes For Breakfast is an homage to the time when my kids were little. It’s about staying in your pajamas till noon, pillow-fort making, and sharing a blanket on the couch. It’s messy hair and hugs.
As an artist and designer, when I became a mom, it was important to me to create spaces for my kids that inspire imagination. I used color, texture, and animal silhouettes to make those places colorful, inspiring, and cozy.

The lovebirds
Lovebirds started with laying my eyes on a bedazzled magnet. I stumbled across it on the day I learned that I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, Mazzy. It was a teal coaster with a vintage image of two birds. One of the birds was fatter and had a gem on its belly. Six months later when I was creating Mazzy’s nursery, I created a silhouette of two birdies sitting together on a branch, forever linked.

PFB’s Panamanian Origins
In Panama I was inspired by the lush greens of the jungle, the vibrancy of life and the history of the people there. I found a fabric store that had great patterned textiles so felt and fabric became my go-tos. I started cutting shapes of monkeys and papayas out of construction paper and felt.

The Juggling Act of Motherhood
I want to share with you some of my story, a ride with its fair share of ups and downs. It parallels the story of Pancakes for Breakfast, a business shaped by the joys and trials of motherhood, and reborn through resilience and self-reflection.
